Emergency Airworthiness Directive was issued prior to GWI 9525 Crash

The European Aviation Safety Agency recently published an airworthiness directive (AD) for the flight manuals of the Airbus A320, A330 and A340 series to address an undesirable nose-down movement that could occur should an angle-of-attack (AOA) probe on the aircraft become blocked that could relate to the recent crash of Germanwings flight 9525. This AD was issued in Aug 2011 with a compliance within six months. A second Ad was issued by FAA last December but only applies to A330 and above. Not sure why as the original AD referenced an A321 AOA sensor being frozen. The original AD was because a manufacturing defect caused false indications to the flight deck.
We will have to wait and see if this does have any bearing on this tragic loss.
