what ever happened to engineers as opposed to accountants getting it right the first attempt???

I think I am safe in assuming they were replaced by computer-savvy engineers. As mentioned by Raymond Doherty above, "shareholder value" (greed?) and may I add incentive-driven culture for executive leadership from the Board of Directors down, have hugely contributed to Boeing's demise. Sad actually.
