McCurdy didn't have a pilot's license until a year later...

For what? Back then everybody just knew people couldn't fly. Would some government bureau issue a 'license' for something that couldn't be done?

It wasn't until after God said "LET THERE BE LIGHT" that the electric company said "Let there be a Meter".
