DOT Approves Norwegian Air US Flights

Размещено

The US Department of Transportation has approved Norwegian Air's application for a foreign carrier permit, allowing it to launch flights from the US to EU countries. Norway is not a member of the European Union, but the airline’s Irish subsidiary which made the application will now be able to access the EU’s aviation rights to fly between the US and EU. Interesting PR article.

Tentative approval in April brought out a number of interested parties.
USA uses the term 'contested':

Norwegian Air International (NAI) appears to be using it's Irish subsidiary for the permit similar to shipping's 'flag of convenience'. Aircrews are to be 'rented' out of a Singapore firm.

So, do you have an Irish firm whose management speaks Norwegian flying planes whose pilots speak one of a number of Asian languages?

Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Management really doesn't understand the views of the rank and file."
