Bruce Schneier Removed From Congressional Hearing At TSA Request
I was supposed to testify today about the TSA in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. On Friday, at the request of the TSA, I was removed from the witness list. It's pretty clear that the TSA is afraid of public testimony on the topic, and especially of being challenged in front of Congress. I'm there in spirit, though. The committee exists for one purpose. They work to make Rep. Issa look good. I don't believe they have any special powers or wield any budget axe. It doesn't matter if Rin-Tin-Tin or Rex the Wonder Horse appears, the result will be the same, nothing.

Congress taking orders from the agency they are supposedly overseeing. It's not surprising at all, but it's still disgusting and infuriating.
