I would think many might have walked to the nearest lawyers office.
It amazes me that people just "walked away" from the scene. I would expect that they would at least be curious about their stuff. I guess shock does some strange things to your mind.
"Some had lost keys, credit cards and IDs left behind in the plane. The airline arranged for locksmiths to meet people who did go home without their keys."
