The Liberty Belle Foundation performed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the four-engined, B-17 Flying Fortress restoring it to flying condition. Its crew flies the plane nationwide, offering an up-close experience with the aircraft, one of thousands built during the heightened war effort in the 1940s.
