Turning final. A Jetstar A320 on base leg for Queenstown's Runway 05 approach. Photo taken from the top of Peninsula Hill, looking south across the southern leg of Lake Wakatipu. At this position, the Airbus is about the same height as me, and as it continues the circular turn to the right, descending lower, down to the airport. The world famous 100+ year old Steam Ship Earnslaw is earning its keep by carrying passengers across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Sheep Station. She's commonly called 'The Lady Of The Lake'.
