Hey Jack, great shot. I heard this bird has been retired recently. Was this a recent shot, or was this part of your older body of work of this great looking bird? Just curious. All your shots of t his aircraft are fantastic by the way (as you probably already know!)
it was taken December 30
Jack...okay, cool. So is she Not retired then? Beautiful shot! Do you shoot these from a helicopter or a fixed wing aircraft? Keep on posting, love your shots, especially of this bird!
My father was in F-100 squadrons for quite some years. How would I research this bird's history? Years agoI took him by one of the ADS hangars when I lived across the street to see an F-84 and he got excited! He was the crew chief for that aircraft early in his career!
For history, go here. https://warbirdregistry.org/jetregistry/f100-563948.html
Hint: I first took the tail number "N2011V", searched the FAA Aircraft registry, got its serial number, "56-3948", (the last 3 digits are the last 3 digits of the buzz number, then put the serial number into Duck Duck Go search, and we were lucky. Some times it's that easy.
