Those Piper "Tiger Shark" nacelles are hard to miss!
I just wish I could figure out how to shoot sharper photos with this Canon T5 I have. I'm using the "sports mode" setting. If anybody has any advice, I'm all ears.
Rick... I'm sure some Canon owners will chime in directly to help and offer advice, but I'll venture this much - you're shooting a static aircraft in this photo... take that Canon out of "Sports Mode" and try some similar shots of static airplanes.
I'm sure that "Sports Mode" is biased towards action and that means a faster shutter speed. Conversely, it also would keep your f-stop (diaphragm) setting to as wide open as possible.
I'm thinking you need to "tighten" that diaphragm setting a tad and you'll likely see sharper images. Most photo lenses are known to produce their "sharpest" results in a mid-range or higher number f-stop (diaphragm) settings.

A portrait setting or a landscape setting would work a little better I think.
Rick- just my two cents, take the camera out of auto mode and shoot in manual. Use the lowest ISO setting and experiment with aperture and speed with your meter. Your pictures are very good already! Looking forward to seeing more shots.
Thank you all for the pointers and advice!!!
Sorry, this isn't an Apache, it's an Atztec, a PA-25-250
I have made my Multi engine rating on such a type, and later my ATP checkride, in the early seventies of the last century.
Loved and respected this "heavy" airplane.
