Nice work getting the whole aircraft in the shot, John - that is not easy!
John Buckley
. . the place needs a good dusting . . . .

looking closely...thats one BIG bird, I missed the SR71 in the 1st glance

The XB70, the only thing that could replace it, did replace it.
The ICBM.

Robert Sloane-

Wait, seriously, you MISSED the Valkyrie?!?!

Sounds like the time the people at Wright Pat misplaced a B-36.
Stefan Sobol
You'd think that they'd make an effort from time to time to get the dust off the artifacts.
Steven H Wilcox
How about a nickname “Flipper”? Great lines!!

The glory days of Edwards X programs, all right there!
Doug Zalud
I'm just glad that she's finally inside and protected from the elements.

I remember what she used to look like outside on the line.

Phil,

I believe that a/c in the background is a Kestrel (P.1127, XV-6A), an earlier version of the famous Harrier. I flew them in the UK and the USA during trials in 1963-1966. USAF had a couple afterwards as did NASA. I think the photo is of one of those. A fine book, "Kestrel Squadron" by Brain Carlin, tells a lot about the early days (see pg. 116 for confirmation about this particular a/c) Thanks for your service and keen eye. Jim

Beautiful shot of fantastic aircraft :-) !

Jim Tyson is correct, that is a Kestrel, the forrunner to the Harrier. I have posted a separated side view shot of it. Interestingly it is also in the U.S. Air Force colcors.
James Simms
Well, given restrictions over the past couple or so years; it’s no wonder aircraft have become a little dusty & unkempt

Also dwarfs the SR-71 right in front!
