Cessna Super Skymaster (N472LC)
This capture of N472LC, the Cactus Air Force Wings and Wheels Museum's Cessna O-2A "Oscar Deuce" Skymaster (originally USAF 67-21346), shows it as it makes a high speed, low level pass straight over KCXP's runway 9-27.

At first, I thought the gray clouds over the airport at the time (the sun was beginning to break thru in places) were going to make it more difficult to snap this black Vietnam-era FAC warbird, but as it turned out it stood out better against the cloudy backdrop than it would have against a clear blue sky so it was easier to see it and stay with it as it went blazing by. I have some super shots of it on runway 9 and also taxiing that I'll post soon.
Nice!
Gary... all black with red numbers/markings for USAF night ops! :-)
nice capture Gman. That is a big risk in wx like this..... Cliff731......Finally, someone with a the correct answer, I never knew why some Military planes were all black and had red lettering. Thanks for the info!
Tom Vance - You are very welcome! Night ops is the primary reason I've always heard and read for this U.S.A.F. livery of overall black with red insignia/markings.
Thanks Cliff731__ it makes sense now. Guess I was a lacking a bit there......LOL>TY
