Boeing Globemaster III (90-0533)
Arriving from Hickam (after a brief stop-and-wait at KRNO) to go on display in the military aircraft static display area.
Comments
During the in-session air races, Reno Stead Airport and the airspace around it are closed to non-race related traffic. This C-17 had arrived from Hickam about 90 minutes before the day's races had ended, so it landed at RNO. Later in the early evening, it departed RNO and made the brief 4 minute flight to here where I captured it arriving. An interesting bit of trivia .... When this C-17 rotated away from RNO's runway 34R and went airborne, it simultaneously began its short final approach to KRTS.
