Hiya, Alien! (Wave) It's 64-0019, a Phantom II RF-4C Recon bird assigned to the 192nd Tactical Recon Squadron (152nd Tactical Recon Group, now 152nd Air Wing). Superb 5 * catch. Thanx for posting this to share. (Two Thumbs Up)
PS >> There's a shot of its sibling (64-0017) on the web along with a click of this one. I'll post the link if I can find it. Also, there is yet another snap of this one but the reg is incorrectly listed as 64-019, probably because the guy who posted it just took the easy route and posted the numbers he could plainly see.

Gary - The USAF s/n for this recee bird is more likely 64-1019 according to Joe Baugher's published information and also, what is found on the AMARC website too... please read on... :-)

USAF s/n 64-0019 would fall into this range...

"64-0001/0448, Boeing LGM-30A Minuteman missiles".

This McDonnell Douglas Phantom II RF-4C Recon bird is within this range...

"64-1018/1037, McDonnell RF-4C-21-MC Phantom".

To which this USAF s/n would apply...

"1019 (MSN 789) to AMARC as FP810 Jan 27, 1992. Still on AMARC inventory Jan 15, 2008."

http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1964.html

AMARC's site shows this information and final disposition for USAF s/n 64-1019...

"PCN FP810, CN 789, Unit 192nd Reconnaissance Squadron, 152nd Reconnaissance Group, Reno, NV, Arrival 27-JAN-1992, Departure 12-FEB-2014, Scrapped at AMARG."

Very cool Gman. I have 4 other RF-4C Recon birds landing this day - all drag chutes out. I also filmed VHS and got most of them taking off south past "Rattlesnake Hill" 15 mins of neat video - too bad you were not up there I'd have ya in the background of the photo! I loaned the VHS to a trusted friend, never saw the tape again. Thanks for the ship detail, and Cliff731 helped on the Joebaugher notes - i went with 64-0019 1st, then read Cliff Notes and opted 64-1019 - thank you both. X=Checking the link now,,,,,,

Cliff >> I've never known Joe B's info to be wrong, so I'm sure you've found the correct reg: 64-1019. I actually did try a fast research of 64-1019 but I was also simul-searching 64-0019 and when I got the "hit" on 0019 I never paid any more attention to the results of my search of 1019. Thanx for finding the right one.

Gary... not to worry, my friend... and you are most welcome too!!! :-)

I was as surprised as you on this one. The only reason I initially went to Joe Baugher's site was to see if there was current info on the status of this recee Phantom II since circa 1991 or so!

By the way, the (then) 186th Tactical Reconnaissance Group of the MS ANG at Key Field, KMEI, also flew the McDonnell RF-4C Phantom II from 1978 to 1991.

I've got a low-res scan of one from a slide that I'll send you via e-mail if I can find it!
