When I was stationed there with the 608th Aerial Port we kept busy. The "MAC" ramp was usually full.

Yes, could be seen from Nanstein Castle or the Bismarck Tower near Landstuhl Hospital.
Sunday Afternoon was my spottertime. Starting at 1 pm, the Air Base was open for operation.
