It's got to be surreal. Flying a plane to its last official landing, to be stripped and sold for parts and scrap. Yet it's got to be exciting to be the first operational pilot for an airline, flying a brand new plane.
I ended up being in a Delta plane that after we took off, the flight crew announced it was the second paying flight of that plane. They wanted us to 'help keep it clean'. Yeah, I'll bet that worked well. How many Sharpies were unsheathed to make a mark in a new plane. Sad...
