Very simple the weaker airline goes belly up. The other three Air lines scramble for what ever they can grab and they all ignore what is marginally profitable. So you get higher prices and less service and nobody gets stuck with the junk. Hey DOJ very smart move go for it. Were did you learn this trick at Harvard?
Good article and based on facts. It is an old government tactic that has been used for decades. When ever anybody tells you to cut funding. You cut what is the most visible and will hurt the most people. Then everybody screams uncle and you get even more money. This time it was the FAAs turn. Stand by on the ocean shipments they are next. And for any paper to publish anything negative about that guy in DC that is news. I would have like to have seen the second chart it did not down load for me to see. Very good article.
I see this is a UK Site so they probably are not aware that Some of the afty section pieces come fromn Charleston, SC. Plus Charleston has the other 787 fabrication and assembly site. I don't have the specs but if it doesn't cover 100 acres it is pretty close plus it is being expanded. Really is a strange looking plane.
Hey Great video of course Go Navy and really learn how to fly. Oh you think you have flying mastered. Then take a shot at landing a chopper in the same sea conditions on to a small boy/tin can or for you none sailors that is a destroyer or a frigate. They are all nuts but they are the best in the world. May they all have Fair Winds and Following Seas.
It is really a shame that more Spainish jobs are going down the drain. their unemployment rate now is ridculous and getting worst. Hopefully the other airlines will be able to pick up some of the layed off people.
Bill his re-election campain fund,If,it was mainly supporters. Or, send th bill to the identifiable protesting groups. They have a right to free speech but not to tear up the place. Why should the tax payer of either the Federal or the State Governments get stuck with another bill.
I hope that all fo the other new and improve systems get delivered on time as well. Considering the the age of our Carrier fleet, we can not afford to have this new technology hold up the carrier program like it has helpd up the LHD-8 and LPD-17 classes. Granted Most of that failure has came in the form of poor workmanship and not failure of the theory. We can not have another class of ships sailing around five years after completion still fixing initial manufacturing defects.
