Hello Arnold. Should G-29 not be a better registration for your Dutch veteran? Because G-15 is a MD52 of the Belgian police. Your type of aircraft can be found under 'BE18'. A salut from the Netherlands.

Peter... this reminds me that Dutch aviation cadets were trained to fly at the former Jackson Army Air Base (now Hawkins Field, KHKS) during WWII... a bit of almost forgotten history.

Many thanks Cliff for the info you gave us. I never realised that there should be a 'Dutch war cemetery' in your country. I believe the Dutch pilots should have flown with there American comrades to free Europe. Because we had not much of an airforce in my country. I live in the South of the Netherlands (Maastricht) near The American Cemetery of Margraten. A place we visit every year with my mother in law (86 yrs old). Her family adopted 3 graves. Next time, in May this year on Memorial Day.

Peter, thanks for the good words. That "Dutch war cemetery" is properly Dutch soil, ceded to the Netherlands during WWII by the city it is located in. As I understand, there is a ceremony to honor those Dutch aviator cadets who served at this training field and especially so, the Dutch pilots who lost their lives in training accidents and in combat during the war.

Yes, I agree with your wish those Dutch pilots would have flown with their American comrades to free Europe. I believe the history records some returning to fly in the Pacific war theater and some flying in Europe too with the British.

Our gratitude is owed to your mother in law for her caring of the three graves at the American Cemetery of Margraten as you mentioned... and to you also, Peter, for assisting her in this endeavor.

On a side note, it was in the late 1970's that I first learned of those Dutch pilots training at the Jackson Army Air Base; this from an older gentleman who had also served in the U.S. Army Air Force during the war as an instructor pilot.
