Jesse,
742 refers to it being a Boeing 747-200 and is the IATA type code for that aircraft. The ICAO type code is normally four characters long and is "B742" for this type aircraft.

Thanks Greg, how do they decide the ICAO type code for an aircraft and does every airframe have an ICAO?
What does it stand for (ICAO)?
