Kind of like going to the showers as innocent folk but walking out of the showers somewhat diminished in outlook? Airbus sit with built but unsold aircraft and devise a plan of try as you buy scheme and sit back for the prey to bite! These aircraft are just waiting for some brave CEO to commit and grab them and then deploy them upon their most subscribed route and then market this as a premium product and service experience. Remember Concorde never made economic sense alone but as part of the fleet, it was never flying with unoccupied seats and was the pulling power of BA and Air France. A380 was and is a crowd puller, it stops traffic and has become a draw for business for the operators of the aircraft. I therefore ask one question, just exactly what is the impediment for US airlines to consider A380? And exactly why all the current operators fill the flights?

Look at recent judgments from UK courts, hacking proved whilst being denied, the United offer of A380 jets? Trusted journalism?

If there is integrity in Aircraft business, others will have been watching and Airbus are so stupid as to omit others.

Having thought on and re-read the reporting of this incident, the injured party should of course get redress, the attendant get some measure of retraining and that gas mouth across the isle be identified, prosecuted and forever barred from all air flight upon commercial services. Sometimes, incidents like this can go 'viral' and end up with innocent lives being lost thousands of miles away with an ISIL execution of an innocent aid worker. Find the idiot with the fat mouth and put a lid on this incident before it gets beyond control.

Message to all airlines...PACK THEM THICK FOR SHORT HOPS....GIVE US SPACE FOR ANYTHING ELSE! Charge therefore accordingly. The Japanese did this with B747SP and if memory serves, DC10-40? Special and specific models for unique routes.

One can never trust the utterances of a 'journalist' hence my post yesterday on this matter needs to be read post contextually. However, I feel that UNITED passing this opportunity by, if there ever one existed, means someone else may take up the chance of trying the A380 before buying, a well used retail trick. Remember, once it's gone, it's gone!

If I read the original article correctly, Airbus are 'giving' on a trial basis two aircraft so I imagine this to be an opportunity for UNITED and AIRBUS to give BOEING a kick up the rear! The B747-8I seemingly does not offer enough to manage any of those quality long haul routes. Emirates apart, most operators of the 380 market the aircraft as a premium product at standard fares in economy cabin with any extras available on board at a modest cost and passengers willing to pay rather than have them as an unused but paid for benefit within the ticket price. If United do take this up and succeed with it and then buy up surplus MAS and older Emirates versions, then a stampede of orders for potential upgrade model may then ensue! Perhaps US carriers are waiting for used aircraft to lease as Emirates begin to offload early models in favour of the expected upgraded versions with new engines. I further wonder how many US citizens fly the return leg of any A380 service from any a

Try keeping it simple! You want a long range bomber just build it as a bomber just as the B52 was. No multirole activity, simple but connected flightdeck, easy to fix when broken away from home base, just enough defences, higher ceiling thus less need of 'stealth' technology....simply, build a old style bomber to be just a bomber. If the Russian's can still get by with 'Blackjack' and 'Backfire' or even 'Bear's ' then why should USAF hemmoarage money building something so expensive no one else would be silly enough to compete with?

Excellent business. Get a fleet for military use but when demand is low, lease to a civilian operator on understanding that aircraft can be recalled in an emergency.
