IAH flight cancellations, delays: Airport tops US travel 'misery' map
Houston led the nation in Misery Sunday, and it had little to do with the Texans. Flight-tracking service FlightAware's MiseryMap tallied 56 flights scheduled to depart from George Bush Intercontinental Sunday between noon and 4 p.m. that were delayed and two that were cancelled. That means nearly half of the flights scheduled during that period offered travelers a miserable experience. An additional nine flights from the smaller Hobby Airport were delayed during that period. Unreadable due to subscription solicitations, dang
Cannot read the article due to subscriptions. Flight Aware should not include in the weekly aviation news any article that requires readers to subscribe. Simple.
I am lucky to live about same driving distance from Houston and Austin, so I prefer Austin Bergstrom for long distance trips.
Thanks for the tip. I have never flown into Texas but if we do I will remember to use Austin.
Also unreadable as my Chronicle is delivered about half the time ...
IIRC IAH opened about in Jun 1969 and one of the (then) two runways was closed for repairs ... it was a poorly designed airport then but now they have so many runways that the terminals are apparently over loaded ... Also couldn't read the article due to subscription requirement.
And those double-letter taxiways… who thought that was a good idea?
