UAL 366, SAN-ORD, B739.. replacement -800 went the rest of the way.
what was seen and videoed by the passenger may have just been "sparks", per the maintenance crew,but this is 2019 and planes engines are not supposed to do that! of course a passenger would be scared!
I remember being on a flight out of San Juan, and during startup the left engine produced a lot of smoke. Someone screamed. Yeah. It was STARTING UP! There will be SMOKE! DUH! And usually a strong odor too...
