I don't get it, can someone care to explain?

Amahran, Since most Earthquakes happen in the west coast as in California and middle US Earthquakes that happen on the east coast are pretty rare. So that's why it said "Yes an Earthquake.".

So what's the strip trying to say?
An earthquake happened on the east coast?
Or is it trying to say something else that happened because of the earthquake?

It is advising that no traffic can takeoff if they are landing at EWR/JFK/LGA.. Thats a ground stop and it is due to an earthquake. They evacuated towers and probably had to do a runway inspection to make sure there was no damage that could damage aircraft.

To add.. TMU is traffic managment unit and ADVSY is advisory, the TMU will update about the continuance or termination of the groundstop at 20:00 Zulu time.. The rest is unimportant.

That's too funny. All too frequently I find myself questioning whether the reasons TMU gives for ground stops are serious...

I'm thinking this might be fake... if it were from JFK, it should read something like

"GROUND STOP DUE TO $#%^$@@@$ EARTHQUAKE!!!! YES A @$%^$$% EARTHQUAKE..."

On the West Coast it's "...due to earthquake, *yawn*, another earthquake...
