The MD-11 is still flying...
This article is a bit old, but i thought it was interesting. The fact that the MD-11 is still flying commercially, is no surprise to me. In the past month both a friend of mine and my mom, have flown on it with KLM. However, i still get the chills when i think about Swissair flight 111. WHILE HURRICANE IS GOING ON, PLEASE WATCH NOAA49,WHICH IS WORKING THE STORM NOW.THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS I JOINED FLIGHT AWARE, SO THAT I COULD WATCH THE HURRICANE HUNTERS,NOAA23,NOAA24,NOAA49. 49 ( THE G-4 ) IS PROBABLY WORKING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF IT'S RANGE, BUT THEN AGAIN I AM NOT AN EXPERT. THIS WAS POSTED @ 2205 PST AFTER IT MADE A COOL LOOP AROUND THE STORM THIS AFTERNOON.JAMES EDDINS.
Mechanics years ago said that if they had to depend on Boeing aircraft for work there would be less mechanics needed where the Douglas aircraft always require more work. Just statements from people that I knew that worked on them not second hand info.
