Gee, some homeowners in Chicago are about 300 feet from the end of MDW's runways, and they fly bigger birds. I don't see the point.
The difference is California.
When were the homes built? My guess is the airport was there first, correct me if I'm wrong, but that is typically the case. If so; if you don't want G4's landing over your head......don't buy a house 300' from the end of a busy runway....duh! If it was me, I'd have an observation deck on the roof and charge spotters $5.00 to come up for a look! (JK - it'd be free!)

Yes Cal, there are NIMBY's in California too. Biggest trouble is that they think they walk on water. This happens in every transportation and communication industry. I just wish folks would look at just what economic benefit accures from such things. Then they can work on making the "things", i.e. aircraft, trains, cell towers, better and more livable.
