Been flying them since Gerald Ford let Grumman sell to them in 1976. As of 2014, the USAF thinks they still have 28 flying.

Yeah, we gave the "Persians" 80 Tomcats.

But . . . they didn't have all the factory options.

They didn't come with the Phoenix.

Hi, ok, as their revolution took place in 1978, they can still fly the Tomcat, how do they sort this out with the spare parts?

Not the 1st time an F14 has escorted a TU-95 but likely one of a few times it was to assist instead of deter.

Kind of confusing headline.
One say Iranian, the other from Aviationist says Persian.Which is it?

The whole clip is fake. It is clipped to gether Vids released by the Russians over the last 15 or 20 years. There are segments from TU-95 testing with cruse missles back in the 90's. There are segments of Tupolev Tu-22 take-offs, both from arab airbases and from somewhere much farther north. There are segments of TU-135's taken from at least 15 years apart and 30 degrees latitude apart. None of this seems legit gulf region footage, and the only 'possible' F-14 shots are so fuzzy they could be the US Navy escorting Bears in the North Atlantic. A little better vetting Please.

The counter rotating airplane looks from a bygone era, probably efficient though.

Russian Bear, TU95, is from the 1950's Cold war era. Why waste newer tech "arrows" when a "Club" will do the job
