BBA Aviation Acquires Maguire Aviation For $69 Million
BBA Aviation plc, the leading global aviation support and aftermarket services provider announces that its Signature Flight Support business (“Signature”) has agreed to acquire the assets of Maguire Aviation Group, LLC at Van Nuys Airport, Los Angeles, California for a cash consideration of $69 million on a cash and debt-free basis. Couldn't it be the other way around. That since LAWA was advertising for and planning to add more FBO capacity/ competitors at the airport, Maguire chose to sell their business to a competitor with a stronger network. A shotgun wedding of sorts, after the pregnant announcement of upcoming FBO(s), that will be hungry for their lunch.
Considering the airport politics we see in many places elsewhere, anything could be possible. I would certainly take $69 million for my FBO if I had one.
