There is no such thing as an accidental gun discharge, only negligent ones. Someone needs some remedial firearms safety training...

Apparently the bullet went through a breakroom occupied by airport employees. The cop is still working, and the flight attendant was charged. Hmmmmm.

The cop should not be on the force if they cannot unload a revolver like that safely as I own two Smith wheel guns, both are very easy to unload and not easy to fire by mistake due to trigger guard and pull of the trigger. My Smith auto is easy to fire as the trigger has much less pull. Take her and make her a TSA screener thats all she is worth.

That was one dumb cop. That is a single action air weight S & W. The only way to fire it is with a concerted trigger pull. To unload it the 5 shot drum simply rolls out to the side allowing the bullets to be dropped out. If he can't handle this pistol I'd hate to see him touch an automatic. Yes, the FA is hot and not too bright. Perfect.

What was she thinking? Common sense seems to becoming an oxymoron.

I think the biggest problem here is the officer who "accidently" fired the weapon while trying to discharge it. How does a police officer who are actually trained, or should be trained, on how to use guns, fire a weapon while trying to discharge it??

How do you say "Oooops!" ?? Thank gawd nobody was hit by the stray shot. Makes you wonder who is protecting who, from whom. <snicker>

I know, its NOT a laughing matter...

Attendant's gun accidentally discharged at Philadelphia airport

There was quite a scene Sunday morning at Philadelphia International Airport's security checkpoints. It all started just before 7 a.m. ET when an apparently forgetful flight attendant for a US Airways Express affiliate brought a loaded handgun to the security checkpoint. The firearm then was accidentally discharged by a Philadelphia police officer.
