For us, this July 4 meant a 550nm VFR trip from Tennessee to Texas, dodging summer thunderstorms along the way in a Cessna 172N (3379E). A bonus was being able to tie down next to my brother's club C172N at his home base outside Houston.
Many thanks to all the ATC personnel who made the trip safer and more enjoyable. We have a great network of professionals working for us here in the US!
