Beautiful shot!
But, Doug, I would rather see many shots of this than interminable images of boring current-day aircraft like 737s and A320s, etc. They are common as dirt. The sad fact is this DC-6B represents a vanishing type and the incredible cost to keep it flying weighs against its continued visibility and airworthiness.
Keep the pix coming, Cristoph!

Planlogger.com reports this aircraft to be OE-LDM as THE FLYING BULLS GMBH (RED BULL) DC-6B. Serial 45563 and line nr. 1034. It was once registered as YU-AFA for Jugoslovenski Aero transport. (Aero transport of the former Yugoslavia. The Yugoslav air force had up to 71 units at the peak. Today the aircraft flight record shows flights mainly up to 90 minutes from Salzburg Austria. The "Flying Red Bulls" Their website presents them as : They are a bunch of aviation enthusiasts with a great passion for rare historical aeroplanes and helicopters. And they are lots more besides. Not only do they watch over the most beautiful and exceptional fleet of planes in the world. Their fleet is impressive.
I guess Doug Irwin will never quit complaining about something nobody else cares about. Maybe Doug Irwin should limit his whiny complaints to one a year. That would be better.
In English it is a C-54 not to be confused with a C-118. Similar but not the same.
I wish it would come stateside!!! I cut my military teeth on C-118.

Agree with Doug. Boring.
Another useless comment from Doug Irvin . . .
Give it a rest Doug. You’re like a carbuncle on the backside that won’t heal up
