U.S. ruling boosts airline confidence in Bombardier's CSeries: Air Lease CEO

MONTREAL (Reuters) - A recent trade decision allowing Bombardier (BBDb.TO) to sell its newest jets in the United States without hefty duties will boost airline confidence in the program, but the Canadian planemaker still faces challenges to win over lessors, Air Lease Corp (AL.N) Chief Executive John Plueger said on Wednesday. This is almost amusing. The leasing companies are awaiting the Delta decision to jump into the US market. If the C-series is as successful as it has been for Air Baltic and Swiss, it will be in demand but Bombardier/Airbus will not have the capacity to deliver quickly. The longer they wait the further down the delivery schedule they will be for a big contract with for example JetBlue and Air Canada will soak up all the output for a few years. Waiting will put them out of the market.

So you don't think Airbus can grind them out of Alabama and kick Bombardier in the butt to get going. The problem I see is that we have to turn this slump around is that Bombardier have Mass Transit Rail contracts all over the EU.
Now they are on the home stretch for the Bombardier 7000 that Oprah, Travolta and Niki Lauda have purchased. They may have too many hands on the corporate controls and what division receives priority. I'm really afraid Bombardier is confused and will do something ill advised.

You are probably right for certainly Alabama will help but Airbus will have to sacrifice some of its other manufacturing to do it until it has a workforce and facilities to take over. They will also have to kick up the Irish production as well.
Delta has an order of 75 and Air Canada the same (with options). If Jet Blue were to come in with a big order plus the Europeans they will need Alabama and Quebec to stay competitive.

Airbus just received a large order of 20+ 380'so the C-Series will get a rough time initially. I here "dumb Canadians" don't know what their doin in the local swamp bars. It will be difficult as you clearly imply.

You are straight on target, once the Swamp people get taste of real good screech or swish they'forget their in Alabama, or anywhere for that matter. I think you closed the case on this issue!

No kicking in the butt needed..I think they are moving along at a good pace considering they dont have the number of Airbus, or those other "folks", assembly plants to complete the C's. Could have pushed faster but with the original engine issues, why...as for the confused aspect at corporate, TTC et all may have knocked a lot of that confusion out of their heads when they buggered up the streetcar order for the TTC.
As for Shorts in Ireland, don't tell an Irish lad it can't be done or he's movin too slow..LOL

What a blow for Boeing ,they managed to piss off 30 million Canadians 50 million British , lost billions of F18 sales If I was a shareholder I would demand " Heads to Roll" Talking about a bone head move!

Not to mention Delta - one of their biggest customers. After Boeing filed this case, Delta ordered 100 A321NEO's with options for 100 more! In addition to the 122 A321CEO's already ordered, plus the A330-900's and A350-900's previously ordered.

I think that U.S. Carriers are going to see what happens next. Either they (The U.S. Carriers) are cautiously optimistic. Still nothing is guaranteed yet. Boeing and company may appeal the ruling. That would be senseless because both companies hopefully are bright enough to realize that any further litigation is a waste of money. It was a 4 to 0 judgement against the "Boeing complaint" that canuck44 mentioned last week.
