O.K., the U.S. airlines lobbied hard in the 1990s for so called "Open Skies" agreements in civil aviation. They got what they wanted for the most part. Now they are whining when other national carriers are beating them on service and price. No U.S. carrier serves Qatar. But Qatar Airlines hub and spoke arrangement out of Doha is among the best in the world.
