The Malaysian Airlines plane that has disappeared on a scheduled flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing is a 777-200ER from Boeing (BA). The 777 family of planes itself is Boeing's best selling dual-aisle, two-engine plane. Through the end of February Boeing has delivered a total of 422 of the 777-200ERs including 15 to Malaysian Airlines. Of 370 planes on order from the 777 family, none is a 777-200ER. Another non-aviation expert reporting what? Is there a purpose for this article other than quoting information straight from the Boeing.com website? Just another journalist attempting to fill in the deadair time during the MH370 investigation....

Some of the misinformation didn't even come from Boeing's website, and much of it is woefully outdated.

For example, most 777X orders aren't reflected in this article's (including most of the initial week's orders that were announced last year at Dubai). The only orders included in the article's figures were the ones that were finalized, signed and booked prior to the end of 2013.
