McDonnell Douglas FA-18 Hornet (16-3988)
Can't get much closer than this to a fired up Hornet without becoming a little "too familiar" with how it "inhales" (grin) and I had no desire to become a part of the jet blast. However, the pilot of this NAWDC F/A-18C (163988) slowed to a stop for a very brief moment and I was able to snap a couple pavement-level shots. Then he resumed taxiing out onto KNFL's taxiway Alpha.
Comments
Must admit, it was a bit disconcerting to be sprawled out on the concrete as Hornets, Vipers, and Tigers came rolling toward me, but I'd been given the "OK" so I stayed and kept clicking the shutter. Several of the NAWDC pilots either waved or signaled a Thumbs Up as they went past; there is no way to know what they were really thinking. (lol)
Great shot!
