Thank you Greg and Roy. I wanted to get them a little higher off the ground but by that time the closer aircraft appeared so much farther ahead from my viewing angle.

I need a day trip over there. Where is the best place to shoot at KMEM?

Yeah, higher might have been nice, but having them together makes it look more like they planned their take off rolls. (I wonder if they did?) Again, that's a great catch.

artracer, unfortunately there aren't really any great places near KMEM for airplane spotting. I took this from company property just west of the airport. A little south of that there are some accessible-to-the-public areas with trees and grass that can provide a good view of landing aircraft when they're using Rwy 36L. But there are no designated parking areas.
